LUKE 13 | Moy Rivas
Jesus' first messages in Luke are of repentance, the action or process of confessing to GOD for the forgiveness of sins, and about perishing, meaning sudden death or to suffer in complete ruin or destruction.
Through these teachings and parables, Jesus is giving us an open opportunity to get right with him. Sin has to be evident in our lives to receive true correction. You can't repent without acknowledging your sin, confessing with your mouth and crying out for God's grace.
We all fall short in the glory of GOD, but as believers we must be knowledgeable of sin, in order to repent or make it right. One of my favorite Scriptures is, "Whoever loves knowledge, loves discipline - but he who hates correction, is stupid" (Proverbs 12:1). This is powerful because You can't expect to know everything, but can't stand to be corrected. God will correct us daily.
Jesus displays "2nd chance" messages in this chapter - not 3rd or 4th chances. Regardless of your regrets, convictions or burdens, give it to God and watch the redirection take place!
"For God so loved the world, that he sent his only Son, Jesus, that whoever will believe in Him, will NOT PERISH but have everlasting life" (John 3:16).
God Bless.
